I've always heard that a woman will undergo menopause at around the same age that her mother did, but statistics are beginning to show a change in that trend. I hadn't considered why until reading this article. It makes good sense that better nutrition and overall health care would result in an extended period of fertility for women. After all, everyone is living longer these days than in generations past. The fact that we have more estrogen in our systems for a longer period of time is really good for overall health, so this is good information to know.
